Two mites being more than all the other money! Success is not determined by how much or how little you give but rather by your obedience to God. This woman was looked down upon, by men, because of the amount. But in God's eyes she was giving more than they all because of her sacrifice.
Some people think that success on the mission field is determined by number of souls won, although that should be a goal in the ministry it should not be our focus. Our focus should be none other than to please the Lord. When we seek to please the Lord we will find it more difficult to be discouraged, and quit.
So as you serve Him today know that it is not how much you do that pleases Him but rather how much you obey!
We often say that we serve a God of impossibilities, although that is true the Bible teaches that while Jesus was on this Earth he faced an impossibility. In Matthew 6:4+5 as Jesus was in His home town that he could do no mighty work. The people were familiar with Him. They said how do you know all of these things we know who you mom and dad are... We have seen you grow up and we know your brothers and sisters. I wander have I let Jesus get so familiar that I limit His wonderful power? Have you got so familiar that you can't see Jesus working around you?
What a blessing it is to serve the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
We just came from an exciting week of meetings with South View Baptist Church in Statesville, NC. I would like to say, thanks to everyone who made it possable for us to be there. We had a great time and the church has now taken us on for support...
Tonight was the first night of Missions Conference in Hesston, KS.
We had a great time of fellowship and singing. But most importantly the Preaching was outstanding. The preacher preached out of I Kings 7 "We do not well if we hold our peace..." It a very convicting message.
